Accountant – IT & Business Infrastructure

Overview
Our client, a growing IT and business infrastructure group, is looking for a hands-on Accountant to take ownership of the creditors and on-billing functions across multiple companies within the group.
The business is currently streamlining finance processes across five entities, and this role will play a key part in centralising workflows, improving controls, and supporting the move to new systems. The position is operational initially, with the opportunity to grow into a team leadership role over time.
This role suits someone practical, detail-focused, and confident enough to deal with strong personalities across sales and operations teams while driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full creditors function across multiple entities (invoice processing, reconciliations, payments, queries
- Oversee supplier accounts and maintain relationships with vendors ranging from SMEs to large corporates
- Support and manage client on-billing processes across divisions
- Assist with cash flow planning through accurate payment scheduling and reporting
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data within the payables ledger
- Support month-end processes, including accruals, journals, and reconciliations
- Work closely with sales, operations, procurement, and finance teams to resolve issues
- Identify and implement improvements to finance processes and controls
- Assist with the transition to new ERP and warehouse management systems
- Help centralise and streamline finance workflows across the group
- Provide support to junior staff where needed, with potential future team management
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in creditors, accounts payable, or finance operations
- Strong understanding of financial controls and reconciliations
- Experience working in a fast-paced or multi-entity environment preferred
- Exposure to billing or operational finance advantageous
- ERP system experience (Sage Evolution or similar beneficial)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
- Confident personality with the ability to work across departments
- Self-starter who takes initiative and improves processes
