Our client, a giant in their field, is a well-known South African listed company, has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join their Durban team. You will be responsible for financial reporting for the entities in Uganda & Tanzania.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance-related
  • Chartered Accountant
  • Proficient in MS Excel with hands-on experience on Vlookup, Formulas, Pivot Tables
  • 5 years’ experience working in Finance
  • 2 years’ experience in SAP all Modules (AR / AP / R2R / Cash Allocation)
  • Experience in a Logistics and/or Shipping environment will be an advantage
 
Key Performance Areas:
 
Financial Management:
  • Responsible for overall financial process adhering to relevant instructions & guidelines
  • Assist in month-end, interim, & year-end financial reporting
  • Assist in coordinating & preparing year-end estimates & annual budgets
  • Maintain accurate & up-to-date asset registers
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations monthly for review & sign off by FM
  • Assist in managing financial risks
Financial Administration:
  • All financial & administrative processes & systems
  • Assist in managing internal & external audit processes
  • Assist in coordinating & maintaining all insurance related requirements & processes
  • Ensure cost control & contracting
  • Assist in preparation of board packs & coordinate with management companies
Manage Debtors:
  • Process debtor journals
  • Reconcile debtors control monthly
  • Complete monthly revenue recon
  • Monitor & report on effectiveness of query resolution in line with agreed KPIs
Manage Creditors:
  • Ensure creditors reconciled to statement & paid on time
  • Review creditor applications, including BBBEE status
Manage Bank Reconciliation & Cash Flow:
  • Reconcile bank account daily
  • Identify & track unreconciled items
  • Daily cash flow management
Ensure Compliance with Relevant Legislation:
  • Adheres to tax & accounting laws
  • Adheres to all other relevant legislation
  • Assist to ensure that quarterly tax computations are prepared & reviewed; income tax returns are filed & paid on time
  • Contribute to ensure that AFS are completed within 3 months after year-end
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS
