Our client, a proudly South African company, is looking for an HR Manager to take the lead on all things people-related. This is a hands-on, senior role where you’ll balance strategy with day-to-day HR management—keeping operations compliant, teams motivated, and culture thriving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations – Mediate workplace issues, resolve grievances, and foster a positive, engaged workforce.
- Recruitment & Talent – Run end-to-end hiring, from job adverts to interviews, offers, and contract renewals.
- Onboarding & Induction – Develop induction programmes, welcome new hires, and oversee training trips.
- Compensation & Benefits – Benchmark wages, manage increases, oversee bonuses/tips, and handle payroll queries.
- Leave & Performance Management – Manage leave approvals and guide managers through reviews and goal-setting.
- Training & Development – Design training plans, source providers, drive learning initiatives, and liaise with SETA.
- Wellness & Team Building – Organise wellness days, team events, and support health checks for staff.
- Employee Travel – Oversee passports, visas, vaccinations, and arrange travel logistics.
- Discipline & Labour Relations – Manage disciplinary processes, draft policies, and represent the business at the CCMA.
- Equity & Compliance – Lead Employment Equity initiatives and ensure alignment with labour legislation.
- HR Strategy & Reporting – Align HR strategy with business goals, analyse workforce data, and present insights to leadership.
- Team Support – Partner with operations to co-ordinate staff schedules, improve productivity, and strengthen collaboration.
- General HR Admin – Maintain records, oversee UIF and confirmations, handle documentation, and support ad-hoc projects.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required – HR professional body registration is a plus.
- 5+ years’ experience in a senior HR management role.
- Strong grasp of SA labour law, HR best practice, and exposure to SETA, EE, CCMA.
- Skilled in HRIS systems (Sage, Payspace, Jarrison, MySHEQ) and advanced MS Office.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
- A mix of strategic thinking and hands-on problem solving, with top-notch organisational and people skills.
