Our client, a well-known South African company in the financial services sector, is currently seeking a Human Resources Director to join their team in Durban. The primary purpose of this role is to design and implement a comprehensive range of HR interventions aimed at enhancing organizational value and supporting the realization of strategic goals. Key responsibilities include leading the development and execution of people practices, with a focus on strategic workforce planning, talent pipeline development, risk mitigation, and continuous learning opportunities tailored to different experience levels. Additionally, the HR Director will advocate for employee engagement initiatives and implement strategies to retain key skills within the organization.
 
Requirements:
  • Postgraduate Diploma / Honours in Human Resources Management
  • 10 years’ experience as a Human Resources Executive or Human Resources Lead in senior leadership
  • Proven track record

  • Regularly scan the external environment against current business focus areas and align HR focal areas.
  • Offer aligned and integrated people management practices around people performance and work focused on key business issues.  
  • Drive career pathways through effective talent dialogues and succession planning.
  • Enable business to use people data to support decision making

  • Develop a responsive, intergenerational employee value proposition
  • Conduct regular pulse checks and deep employee sentiment diagnosis covering employee journeys from beginning to end
