Human Resources Practitioner | Durban
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Practitioner to support the HR function and provide professional, customer-centric HR business partnering to employees. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining positive employee relations, supporting HR processes and building effective relationships with employees, management and unions.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Process Support & Execution

Provide excellent HR customer service and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.

Coordinate and compile monthly, quarterly and annual HR reporting, including trend analysis and recommendations.

Assist with sick leave management.

Support HR projects, initiatives, audits and ad-hoc activities.

Provide HR data for BBBEE scorecards and assist with audit preparation.

Assist with Employment Equity information, reporting and related administration.

Provide cover and support to the HR Manager and HR Administration function when required.
Employee Relations
-
Coordinate incapacity processes arising from relevant meetings and medical/clinic processes.

Coordinate internal disciplinary hearings.

Provide support on employee relations matters, including CCMA and Bargaining Council processes where applicable.

Attend relevant site meetings and provide HR support.

Assist with HR meetings through minute-taking, translation or scribing where required.

Coordinate and schedule monthly union meetings with the HR Manager.

Assist with Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) activities.

Coordinate relevant employee engagement initiatives and meetings.
Recruitment & Onboarding

Assist with recruitment, screening, selection and placement activities.

Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees.

Assist with HR inductions where required.
Key Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field (NQF Level 7).

Minimum 5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist within a manufacturing environment.

Solid knowledge and understanding of relevant labour legislation, with experience handling labour disputes.

Working knowledge of SAP HCM.

Advanced computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office.

In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, processes and procedures within an organisational environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and engage confidently across all levels.

Strong analytical ability.

Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

A collaborative approach and strong team-player mentality.
This role would suit an experienced HR professional who is comfortable operating within a manufacturing environment, has strong employee relations exposure and can confidently manage a broad range of HR processes. The successful candidate will bring sound HR knowledge, strong stakeholder management skills and a practical, hands-on approach to supporting both employees and the wider HR team.
