A Group of companies with interests in Marine, Farming and Horticulture are currently looking for a Management Accouant to join their exciting operation. They are based down south near Ifafa beach and will require this person to be on site. Suitable area would be, Scottburgh, Pennington or Port Shepstone.
The management accountant would be required to deliver financial analysis, reporting and commercial insight that supports strategic decision-making, budgeting and operational performance management.
The role ensures financial integrity, effective cost control and profitability analysis across departments, projects and business units, while operating within diverse business environments including agriculture and intercompany structures.
Qualifications & Experience
- BCom Accounting / Hons degree or equivalent
- 5 years’ experience in a financial or management accounting role
- Experience with ERP Accounting and payroll systems
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis
- Analyse profit and loss per department, project or cost centre
- Maintain general ledger integrity and perform reconciliations
- Prepare accruals, provisions and monthly journals
- Assist with year-end audit preparation and audit queries
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Prepare annual budgets in conjunction with company divisions
- Produce rolling forecasts and financial projections
- Monitor performance against budgets and provide commentary
- Identify risks and opportunities impacting financial performance
Costing & Profitability Analysis
- Monitor overhead allocation and cost recovery
- Profitability analysis
- Analyse operational efficiencies and recommend improvements
Cash Flow & Working Capital
- Prepare cash flow forecasts
- Monitor debtor and creditor balances
- Assist in improving working capital management
Business & Commercial Support
- Provide financial insights to operational managers
Compliance & Statutory
- VAT and tax submissions
- Ensure financial records meet audit and statutory requirements
- Maintain financial controls and procedures
