Planning & Raw Materials Logistics Leader
Durban – KwaZulu Natal – South Africa
We’re partnering with a leading manufacturer to find a hands-on Planning & Raw Materials Logistics Leader for their Durban facility. This role suits someone who enjoys being close to the detail — managing raw material and packaging supply, coordinating sales and demand planning, and keeping production running smoothly. You’ll play a key part in the Sales & Operational Planning process, making sure materials, stock levels, and production plans all align to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing all raw material and packaging purchasing, from forecasting to reordering and supplier management.
- Driving the Sales & Operational Planning process — ensuring balance between sales forecasts, production capacity, and inventory targets.
- Coordinating shipping, logistics, and local stock levels while managing working capital.
- Maintaining SAP systems, production planning data, and monthly reports on material usage and inventory.
- Partnering with key stakeholders across supply chain, production, and sales to support site performance.
Key Requirements:
BEng: Chemical Engineering non negotiable
- Stochastic/LP Modeling is an advantage
- At least 5 years’ experience in production or materials planning within a chemical or manufacturing environment.
- Strong SAP and Excel skills, plus comfort with data-driven planning tools.
- Confident communicator with a proactive, solution-driven approach.
