Regional Operations Manager


Job Purpose:
 
The Regional Operations Manager is accountable for the oversight and management of the day-to-day operations. The role will be looking after multiple plants in the business, reporting to the GM.
 
They must ensure optimal efficiency, productivity, and quality in the manufacturing operations in their assigned region, whilst ensuring that stock and inventory metrics are according to sound business principles.
 
Proven leadership and an astute financial understanding is required.
 
Education:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical experience and competency.
  • Minimum 8 years’ working experience in an operations role

Key Performance:
Operational Management
  • Oversee the full manufacturing process and ensure robust systems are in place to maintain raw‑material availability, meet daily customer demand, and hold sufficient finished‑goods stock to manage risks such as equipment breakdowns, supply disruptions, quality incidents, and infrastructure failures.
  • Drive cost efficiency across all direct and indirect processes.
  • Cascade relevant metrics to support strategic KPIs and hold teams accountable for accurate, timely reporting.
  • Manage and optimise inventory to meet production requirements while minimising waste.
 
Plant
  • Lead and support plant projects, implementations, and manufacturing processes.
  • Coach and mentor employees to continuously improve production standards.
 
Budget and Cost Management
  • Develop, manage, and control the operations budget to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Participate in business unit and plant audit processes.
  • Safeguard and maintain company assets (working capital and fixed assets).
  • Identify, prevent, and report potential fraud.
  • Promote good corporate governance practices.
 
Technology and Innovation
  • Keep up to date with manufacturing technology trends and advances.
  • Support the introduction of new tools, equipment, and technologies to improve operations.
 
Reporting
  • Provide monthly plant performance reports to the Managing Executive.
  • Complete all additional reporting as required.
