Warehouse Controller – contract

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Warehouse Controller to take full ownership of finished goods inventory accuracy and outbound logistics coordination across internal and third-party warehouse networks. This role serves as the critical link between Customer Service and Logistics, ensuring seamless order execution, SAP-governed inventory integrity, and precise transport planning and documentation control (DNs, PODs, goods issues and returns).
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering compliant, cost-efficient, and on-time fulfilment to both local and export customers, driving service excellence while optimising operational efficiency across the end-to-end supply chain.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Degree or National Diploma in Logistics and /Warehouse Management.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar environment.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP materials management and inventory control
- Superior organisational skills
- Third-party management experience is essential.
- Excellent communication skills with strong negotiation skills.
- Analytical thinker with good attention to detail.
- Computer-literate in MS Office package and SAP, with the ability to document processes into the SOP format.
Responsibility
Inventory Control & SAP Governance
- Lead the month-end stock count process, including coordinating pre‑count and post‑count meetings, identifying risks, highlighting discrepancies, and ensuring timely mitigation actions to maintain inventory accuracy and audit compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of transfers, consignment stock, silo and bagged stock.
- Troubleshoot and reconcile discrepancies between physical and SAP stock.
- Reconcile production refeeds (Bag to silo) and assist with audit readiness.
- Achieve SAP vs WMS accuracy targets on all Finished goods locations
Consignment Stock & Customer Consumption
- Govern consignment stock movements and consumption.
- Maintain POD trails and GI processes.
Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures to maximise efficiency and cut operational costs.
Logistics Coordination & Transport Planning
- Liaise with CSRs and 3rd parties.
- Oversees the planning and execution of load schedules to warehouses, export destinations, and customer collections
- Prepare delivery notes and manage SAP goods issue.
- Ensure compliance to ETD/ETA from 3rd party transporter and report delays and standing time for effective service to end customer
- Management of Process returns and coordinate damages/collection of product
- Maximise X300 fleet utilization and transport routes
Transporter, Documentation & Financial Controls
- Manage transporter performance and SLAs and Legal governance
- Track PODs and ensure alignment between dispatched and invoiced deliveries.
- Validate transport rates via the LPS and SAP reports and resolve discrepancies.
- Control claim work against carriers in line with the Company procedure
Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimisation
- Improve procedures to maximise efficiency and reduce costs.
- Report delays and drive corrective actions
- Ownership of E&A’s, UPE’s, MOC and audit findings
